288 emails this week of which 177 are labeled OTW - !General and 107 are labeled OTW – Board. My calendar says ~8 hour week and I am still in a low-coping place.

The board did a number of things this week including something intensive that I can't talk about that left me pretty drained. It's good we have these conversations, but the impact on me as a person is huge.

The Open Board meeting was committee updates, we talked about money management - making sure we do it well; staffing changes; and two external requests for relationships with the OTW. The Closed Board meeting was about the Strategic Planning Open Doors Report, how liaisons fit into our structure (inconsistantly) and how our structure is working (not as well as we want it to). We're not suddenly about to make changes, it's more that it's an active conversation. We also talked about a committee rename proposal, and some staffing questions.

The Annual Report should be out ANY DAY NOW.

It looks like no meeting minutes have gone up on the website yet this year - what's going on with that?

I particularly noticed it because part of the money management that was raised was something the board already approved over a year ago, and should have been in minutes from back then.

Ira is secretary and has been in bad shape and unable to do them. Good timing though, I started writing them up yesterday :p

I will keep working on them till they are done.

Money management: Gah. I think we need a far better system for tracking action items because right now it's not good enough.

I think it's not so much a tracking system, as people being willing to either delegate or pass on tasks. If Ira's been unable to do them, couldn't she have admitted to that in less than five months, and asked someone else to take on some of it? Last year there was a vice-secretary who covered any weeks the secretary couldn't do. And similarly for the money stuff, Sanders got the approval, but then didn't have the time to sort it herself, but didn't ask for help or pass the task on to anyone else. I know how tough it is at the time, and there may be other reasons in those specific cases, but there is a general pattern. Changing that culture is the only thing that's going to cure it, not another new tracking system.

I'm not disagreeing! I'm casting around for a way to make that cultural jump and that's where I think having a clear process / tracking system that makes these gaps visible would be helpful.

Do you have any other ides about ways to make that change possible?
