I am selfishly extremely glad that Wiki doesn´t have to care about the meta-on-ao3 discussion at all. Whew. I only looked at it from a safe distance, but it seemed like such a messy discussion. It looks to me like principles (our mission includes meta, meta is cool, let´s have meta) vs. practicalities (what does that mean for the committees involved, how do we define it, can the archive handle it, can we handle it), and while I´m fine with principles winning, I wish there were some better answers for the practicality concerns. A discussion about what the role of the Board is would fall directly into this and of course make it much more difficult.
